I think I'm not alone in being tired of finding links to download mixtapes only to find that the temporary file hosting site has deleted the file because of inactivity, or some set time at which they choose to delete files.

We need a place where the files will be here today, tomorrow, and a month from now, and I hope to make mashtapes.com that place.

The site will, for the most part will be very basic, nothing fancy, just a place to get your mixtape hosted.

What this site is not.
This site is NOT a place for you to rip a bunch of songs from cd's and be able to upload them so your friends can download them.  In other words, I will not host a zip file full of your favorite songs so you can "Share" them with your friends.

What this site is.
This is a place where you can upload your mash tape or remix tape and have it hosted for free.
This site is for mashups and remixes, nothing else. Full tapes only,  no single songs.

If this site helps keep 3 mixtapes from disapearing from the internet, I'll be happy and I would feel that my money and time were well spent.  Ten would be amazing, and so on.......  I don't DJ, I don't Remix, or do Mashups, but I do love them, and this is MY way of pitching in and helping to spread the word.  I make absolutely no money from this site,  and if you know me you know that I actually put a LOT of time and money into my sites.   Treat me right, and I'll return the favor.
